Guido Cappellini was confirmed as Team Manager of Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team
The agreement was signed by the former driver, 10 times UIM F1 Inshore World Champion,, and ADISMC (Abu Dhabi Internationale Marine Sport Club) and it will concern F1, F2, F4 and Endurance Inshore Teams.
Guido Cappellini was confirmed as Team Manager of Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team, with a long-term agreement (5 years plus 5), lasting up 2025 (eventually 2030).
After retiring from races, the 10 times UIM F1 World Champion, started his new career as team manager of the Russian Team New Star, winning the 24 Heures de Rouen (2014).
Four years ago, Guido Cappellini was appointed by H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in order to lead the AD Team to the World Championship top level.
Thanks to the great goals achieved, H.H. strongly wanted Cappellini to be reconfirmed as Team Manager: 6 World titles won in the last 4 years (2 UIM F1 World Championship with the drivers Alex Carella and Shaun Torrente, 3 UIM F1 Team World titles and 1 UIM F2 World Championsip with Rashed Al Qemzi).
Besides, Cappellini led the Team to the victory of the prestigious 24Heures de Rouen twice (2015 and 2019).
Last year, he got a record in the F1 Powerboat history: the three drivers of Abu Dhabi Team conquered the first three positions in the 2018 World Championship!
That egemony was confirmed in the earlier current chanpionship: the World Champion Shaun Torrente won the Portugal GP, first validated race in the 2019 season. His teammate Thani Al Qemzi ranked as second.
The new agreement proposed to Cappellini, was signed together with Salem Al Remaithi, ADIMSC General Manager: it includes the management of F1,F2,F4 and Endurance teams,, so Cappellini will be the director of the entire Abu Dhabi Powerboat Inshore Racing department. As usual, he will be supported by the staff who have been following him since he started as a driver.
“It is a great pleasure and an honour for me , due to have again the opportunity of working with Abu Dhabi Team. Here, I found all the ideal conditions for developing a very professional and high-level team. I am very proud for the results achieved and we are working every day to get better and better. First of all, I would like thank H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his son His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Sultan Bin Khalifa Al-Nahyan, Vice-President and CEO of the AbuDhabi International Marine Sports Club: they believed in me four years ago and now reconfirmed me as Team manager. Together, we are achieving great goals all around the world, and I also love my role as a coach, in growing many young and good drivers.”Guido Cappellini
